Special Olympics of Northern California benefits from recent fundraiser

Folsom State Prison

Inmates at Folsom State Prison raised more than $2,300 for Special Olympics of Northern California.

The donation demonstrates their support of the Special Olympics mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

On March 5, the inmates of Folsom State Prison (including the Folsom Women’s Facility), presented a check to the Special Olympics of Northern California.

The inmates held several fundraisers, including a food sale and a laundry detergent sale, which raised over $2,300 for Special Olympics of Northern California.
